I was reading an article on the internet about some problems that Oprah is having. A magazine has accused her of giving bad, if not dangerous, medical advice. First of all, let me say that I don’t believe that she necessarily gave bad medical advice, but has offered many different approaches to medical treatment, some of which could be dangerous if not taken under condiseration by a medical professional.

That all said, I have seen and heard many different approaches to health care that range from feasible to down right silly. I have reviewed many different holistic treatments and natural remedies. I have no doubt that someone, somewhere, under some circumstances has been cured of just about everything.

Dealing with the physical side of being healthy, there seems to be a lot of justified talk lately about detoxing. In my opinion, it is one of the best preventative procedures that you can do for yourself. Personally, I try to detox after long boughts with kidney stones when I’ve taken a lot of meds. I want the chemicals out of my body ASAP. I feel much better when I do. It is also good so that you can get the full benefits of the vitamins or supplements you are taking and help you get the full effect of the foods that you are eating.

My friend, I believe that we are temples in which God resides in and insomuch as we are, we should take good care of the abode of the Almighty. We should eat healthy, exercise, and get plenty of rest but when you get to the bottom line, we are all living in a dying world and that includes these “earth suits”…thanks Mike B for giving me that term.

When Christ returns, there will be a new Heaven and a new Earth. We will also get new bodies….wooo hooo!!! Anyone tired of yours yet? Anyway, until then, know that the stripes that were laid across the back of Jesus were for your healing. He took them for you. He knew you would need them. He also instructed His followers to put their hands on the sick and they will get better.

If you need a physical touch today, grab a believer. It doesn’t matter if they’ve walked with the Lord a day or 50 years. If they are a believer, then have them pray for you. You can have your pastor pray for you too. I know mine is anointed to pray for the sick and see them healed. Whoever you can get, just have them put their hands on you and believe for a healing.
