The Power To Release Miracles

Power To Release Miracles

As I have been preparing for our Revival Fire Fellowship’s Annual Conference, coming August 14-16, 2014 at Fresh Fire Church in Uniontown, PA, I have been praying about the theme, The Power To Release Miracles.  Throughout the Bible, there are more than enough examples of miracles; from the creation of the universe to the birth of the Son of God by a virgin and everything in between.   One thing I’m finding is that miracles are natural for God and His children.

I was sharing this past Sunday at Harvest Baptist Church about the story where Jesus sent 70 of His disciples two by two and gave them instructions on how they were to conduct themselves.  As they returned, they were so happy because of the miracles and even stated, “Even the demons are subject to us through Your Name.”

Now friends, I have been in enough circles in my journey with Christ and I have seen miracles.  I have even had a few myself.  I absolutely believe when I pray for someone that God will intervene on their behalf.  I don’t doubt miracles.  Yes, there have been some who have perpetrated hoaxes in the name of Christ for their own benefit.  There have been illusions and trickery to deceive many.  There have even been those who have said that they will “sell” you a miracle for the right price.  Regardless of the many abuses that have been devised for whatever gain, God still does miracles today.  I don’t see anywhere in scripture where they have ceased or where we are told that we should expect them to be less frequent.  Bottom line is…MIRACLES STILL HAPPEN TODAY!  In fact, I see where it should be commonplace for believers.

If you read stories about certain ministers of the Gospel in places outside of the U.S., you will most likely find them more prevalent.  It seems that when you step out of the United States, the expectation level for miracles is much higher.  Maybe it’s because we’re spoiled and have everything handed to us.  Maybe it’s because they don’t have all of the wonderful amenities we have…air conditioned churches, padded pews, sermons that only last a half hour, and comfortable worship.

I am coming to a place in my journey that I’m seeing things a little more differently than before.  I see so many times in scripture where miracles came out of a place of desperation and despair.  Many miracles took place because God needed something to happen at just that exact time so His will would be accomplished.  You see friend, miracles aren’t always about us escaping the suffering but that in the suffering Christ would be revealed.  Throughout the Gospels, Jesus is revealed in the suffering of others.  Even Paul said in his writings that he would rather deal with his sufferings so the glory of God would rest upon him.

As we walk together in this journey, it is my desire to see miracles happen everyday.  You may think that is a bold statement, but I believe in my relationship with Jesus so much and I believe there is enough hurt and pain around me that I can and do expect my Father to do whatever He needs to do.  Let’s explore this some more.  And be sure to join me for the conference.  If you can’t be there, it will be broadcasted over the internet and DVD’s will be available.  Each session will have dynamic preaching and heart challenging teaching.

I’m ready for miracles….ARE YOU??
