Sanctity of Life Sunday

January is Sanctity of Life Month and this coming Sunday is a special day set aside to remember those who have given their lives through this terrible tragedy, remember those mothers who have chosen to end the life of their child, pray for the women who are facing this decision even now, and to celebrate the gift of life.
Of course the age old discussion of “when does life actually begin” still causes many heated debates in homes and in the halls of Congress.  As a believer and follower of Christ and His teachings, I believe that life is precious but especially those beings that God breathed the breath of life into and they became living beings.  Any time we de-value life, we reduce the gift of life that was given to us to a mere happenstance and not a gift from our Creator.  I believe that is the agenda of some.  Humanism, the exaltation of ourselves over the will of God, thus we become gods in our own lives.
That said, I want to focus on several things on my heart and I believe on the heart of God.

1.  Pray for those who have already chosen to terminate the life of their unborn child.  I don’t believe that it serves anyone to treat these ladies harshly or even judge them.  There is forgiveness and freedom from these decisions.  This is what we should be speaking.

2.  Pray for the workers at these clinics.  Many are deceived or misinformed.  Pray for revelation of truth about the importance of life.   Do NOT hate the person because it is a spiritual issue that reveals itself in actions.  Never let the indignation you may feel for the act to turn personal.  Remember, hate the sin, but love the sinner.

3.  If you feel passionately about this cause, volunteer time or make monetary donations to ministries that reach specifically to this group of women.  You will find a link to Labor of Love Ministries based in Morgantown, WV.  Not only do they believe in the value of an unborn baby’s life, but they do something about it.  They also believe in the value of the mother.  That’s why they have a home and a school for both the mothers and the children.  Don’t just report the problem…do something about it.  Be a part of the solution.

Join me this coming Sunday evening at 8 PM on He’s Alive Radio for a special broadcast called Snatched From Death–Melissa’s Story.
