A few months ago, a friend gave me a couple DVD’s from the Passion Talk Series. This is a teaching series based on songs from Sixstep Records artist Chris Tomlin. I watched them when I got them and I have watched them since. Today, I felt compelled to watch one called Indescribable which is based on Tomlin’s song by the same name.

This DVD features Louie Giglio sharing about the awesomeness of God and His creation, especially in outer space. What I see on this teaching is far from boring. As one who loves sci-fi and Star Trek in particular, I am fascinated by the wonders of the expanse of our universe. Some things may astonish me but nothing surprises me. I have come to expect the “indescribable” acts of a limitless Creator.

While watching this DVD, I could not help but feel a little small in the vast array of the universe. When you really look at it, we are really just a speck of dust in the grand design of it all. But here is what totally messes with my mind…with all of creation giving glory to God, with everything at the disposal of an Almighty and Omnipotent God, with a God who can at just a thought create whatever He wishes….yet He still chooses to make His dwelling place within me and within you.

Friend, that thought just sends shivers up my back. The same God who cares for the sparrows and says that we are more important than they are is the same God who created the universe and beyond and yet is the same God who sent His one and only son, Jesus Christ to die on a cross. I heard someone say that He loves us so much that He would rather die than live without us. YOU are that valuable to Him. YOU are loved that much. THAT, MY FRIEND IS INDESCRIBABLE!!!!!
