I’ve been meaning to post this for a while. Watch this video from the Skit Guys. These guys go from explaining grace to a 5 year old, to a teenager struggling with God’s love, and finally to Peter…the one who denied Christ and He still showed him love.

Friends, maybe you’re having a hard time today. Maybe you feel like you will never be able to redeem yourself from past sins. I know where you are. That’s the power that sin holds over us. It holds us in it’s grip and will not let us go. We become a slave to it even if we never commit another sin….like that’s gonna happen. As long as sin can keep us down, hiding, and in fear, it keeps us in bondage. Anything or anyone we owe something to becomes our master.

Here’s where you need to learn God’s grace. Here’s where you need knowledge and understanding. First, when you give your life to Christ, He and only He can be your master. He will not share and He says you cannot serve two masters. Second, He wipes away all penalty against you thereby removing any debt that you owe. You no longer are held in bondage to anything else. Third, you are now His child and His love for you cannot change. There is nothing you can do to earn His love. He loves you just the same.

Grace is not permission to sin. It is however the freedom to walk away and live a new life in Christ.
