How Many Suits Do You Need?

I came across an interesting article today. While it made me chuckle, I would imagine that there is some validity to it. It seems that a company in Japan has developed a new suit for men (sorry ladies…I guess you’re left out). The company claims that this suit will protect the wearer from the H1N1 Swine Flu. Yep, you read it right. Don’t worry about getting the shot, just buy the suit, which by the way only costs around $600.

I’m still not sure of all of the panic surrounding the Swine Flu. I read a report that more people die from the “regular” flu than this. Neither are acceptable but it seems that some like to get the general population in a panic to fuel some other need within themselves.

It seems today that so many people are living in fear. Fear over the economy; fear over war or terrorist attack; fear they might get cancer or some other life threatening disease. Fear of some form has all but gripped our nation and the world.

As believers and disciples of Christ, we should not be entangled with fear. A natural fear is healthy but a mindset of fear is detrimental. Check out that word…it means destructive to the mind. We are supposed to live above the world’s system but it seems that we operate in it as much as those who are not followers of the Way, Truth, and Life.

So, will I take normal precautions not to get the pig sickness? Of course. Will I obsess over not getting it? Absolutely not. Do I think my government should take all necessary steps to protect our nation from terrorists? You bet. Am I going to live in constant fear of it happening? No way. Am I going to try to eat right and live healthy? Sure. Will I worry away my life, hoping I don’t get cancer? Nada. My life will not be bogged down with fear because Jesus said that even though the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, He came so we could have life to the fullest.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear….
1 John 4:18

  1. He also has not given us a spirit of fear but of peace and a sound mind. (paraphrasing)
I also heard one of the best ways to prevent the flu, swine or otherwise, is to take vitamin D. The recommendation was for 1,000 to 3,000 I.U’s per day.

  2. I didn’t order any. I decided to take both pieces of your advice. 1. Don’t worry and 2. stock up on vitamin D. I figured it was cheaper and gave me more peace of mind.

  3. I would have to agree. πŸ™‚
I also recently heard a horror story of someone becoming debilitated from the flu shot. She went from perfectly normal one day to not being able to walk the next. It is apparently a side effect of the drug that Dr’s fail to mention. She will have to suffer wtih this for the rest of her life. IT does get a little better over time but she will never be normal again. Pardon the mispelling.
