Does It Hurt?

Today was a tough day for me, yet it was filled with so many joys. A lot of little things happened and the pressures of ministry that are just normal seemed to hit me at one time. I want you to see that even through the troubles, God always provides the vaccine.

The other day I was reminded of a old song by Bryan Duncan that says “On a mission from God, like to call him my friend. See the people are sick and He’s the medicine.” Sometimes I like to think that I’m just a spiritual needle. He’s the medicine but we are the delivery method. God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things.

Pastor Sharon delivered an extremely deep and anointed message this morning called the Holy Ghost Weight Loss Plan. In it, she shared on how we are to lay aside every weight that would so easily put us by the wayside. She then shared on how bitterness, fear, anger, and rejection can hold us down.

Afterward, some things happened and I was not feeling the best. At one point as myself and two brothers were talking, one of them said, “We will reap if we faint not.” There was something to these words. These were words empowered and made alive by Holy Spirit. It was like they were missiles that knew the exact target in my heart to hit and they did…right on the mark. At that moment, I was broken before the Lord and my brothers. Inside, I was crying out “Would someone just pray?” and sure enough, within minutes, they did.

Afterward, the other brother said, “God takes the pulverized ashes and makes something beautiful out of them.” This encouraged me to know that even in the midst of destruction, God will recycle it and even create something brand new.

Friend, let me encourage you today. Wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, God knows the exact place where you are. He knows what you’re doing and He knows your phone number. My prayer is that someone will be put in your path to encourage you and to give you the exact words you need to help you. You are important to Him. Get in the Word and build yourself up. Receive the healing you need. Don’t allow your spirit to be broken.

The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness, but who can bear a broken spirit?
