During Bible study the other night, we were studying the 3rd chapter of the Book of Acts. It’s amazing how you can see things when you just open your eyes.
We were reading about a man who sat sick at the Gate called Beautiful. Physically, this man had been sitting there and begging for years. Then some followers of Jesus met him.
One thing that has intriqued me is that they went to pray every day and had to have passed by this man before. What made this day so special? Did something happen to make today the day of his miracle?
I can’t answer that question. Honestly, there are many times that I have prayed for people and they didn’t get healed….or did they? Sometimes people receive an instant miracle while others seem to take longer but still get their healing. Still others never get a physical healing.
One thing that I have learned is that even though God is the healer and His Word promises healing, we are still mortal. Because of the fall of Adam and Eve, our physical bodies will eventually perish. It’s inevitable. Only two that I’ve ever heard of got by without dying. Enoch and Elijah are the only two that escaped the fate of every human. Even the physical body of Jesus died. Sure he was resurrected but He then received a glorified body.
So, back to the man who was sitting by the gate. I’m sure Peter and John had passed him on their way to prayer before. Maybe they even gave him money. However, this time it was different. Peter took him by the hand and offered him Jesus. The man immediately leaped to his feet. He went from there to walking, leaping, and praising God. Here’s something cool. He was walking…he received his physical healing. He was leaping…he received an emotional healing. And he was praising God…he received a spiritual healing. He was made WHOLE!!!
Maybe you need a healing. Maybe you need a helaing in all three areas. It is yours today. Maybe you stumbled across this blog by accident. My friend, it was no accident that you found this. You were destined for a divine appointment. Let the fulness of Christ come to live within you.
Finally, some words from a song that I remember singing when I was growing up:
Reach out and touch the Lord as He goes by
You’ll find He’s not to busy to hear your heart’s cry
He’s passing by this moment
Your need He’ll supply
Reach out and touch the Lord as He goes by
